The First Baptist Church of Vandergrift has a rich heritage of serving God and their community for well over the past 100 years. Established in January of 1900, the First Baptist Congregation has occupied the Church on the corner of Franklin and East Adams Avenue in Vandergrift since it was erected in 1905. Over the past century, hundreds and hundreds of faithful parishioners have called the church their home as the Church has been a source of spiritual strength and comfort in the community. Currently, there are 5 octogenarians as active members of the congregation!
The First Baptist Church of Vandergrift is a member of the Pittsburgh Baptist Association which is part of the American Baptist Churches of Pennsylvania and Delaware. (ABCOPAD).
The Church is governed by it's long established Tenants of Faith, as well as it's Constitution and By-Laws. A Board made up of members of the congregation oversee all the business and activities of the Church, while the Pastors, aided by a team of Deacons and Deaconesses, oversee the spiritual leadership and personal needs of the congregation. There is a vibrant Children's Ministry Department as well that diligently trains up our children in the ways of the Lord.
The Church has enjoyed a long history of family ministry here in the Kiski Valley and it is poised to continue it's outreach well into the 21st century. We are continuously adding and implementing new ministry programs and outreaches which are geared towards fulfilling the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of all God's people.
Everyone is very much aware that times and culture are rapidly changing, and the First Baptist Church is here to provide the same solid Biblical foundation that has kept it flourishing since the early 1900's.
Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever and the First Baptist Church is proud to be a vital part of the community in which it serves, and will continue to delcare the goodness of the Lord to everyone - young and old alike.

Together, Michael and Debbie have devoted their lives to sharing the life changing, transforming Gospel of Jesus Christ. They believe that it is the goodness of God that leads a man or a woman to repentance. They deeply desire for people to come into the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and to walk in God's Wisdom and manifest Presence through the power of the Holy Spirit. It's all about Relationship, not Religion. They stand on the living Word of God that declares nothing shall be impossible to those who believe.
The Vision of the First Baptist Church is first and foremost to honor and glorify our God - The Father, Son and Holy Spirit, in all that we think, do, and say.
We desire for this congregation to walk in Love and Unity with one another, to overlook each other's faults and to stand together as the Body of Christ as we grow in knowledge, wisdom and spiritual maturity by the Word of the living God.
We desire to have the redeeming power of the Gospel shine forth from within our walls out into our community where it will touch hearts and transform lives.
And, we desire to be a place of peace and safety where all God's people are welcomed, celebrated, respected and inspired to be all they can be through our victorious Savior, Jesus Christ.
